Gassim co-organizer of the conference on tourism and hotel investment in Africa (CITHA)

  • March 1, 2019

CITHA 2019 organized jointly by Horwath HTL (www.horwathhtl.fr), Proparco (www.proparco.fr), Radisson (www.radissonhotelgroup.com) and Gassim (www.gassim.eu) will be held on June 19 in Abidjan. This private event is open to 250 delegates by invitation only.

Sub-Saharan Africa is perceived as one of the most promising emerging markets in the world and is now a new area of opportunity. This growing interest in Africa has been accompanied by a sharp increase in demand and an increase in hotel development projects. Major tourism development projects contribute to urban development and promote the development of infrastructure that is useful to all. By strengthening the attractiveness of a city, by stimulating local employment and vocational training, especially for young people, the hotel industry has a real potential for economic and social development.

This context therefore attracts international brands and encourages the sector to continue to renew itself, to structure itself and to develop a quality offer, in line with international standards. However, the risks remain numerous and the number of projects and chambers, still modest on a continental scale, makes the most recent projects pioneering in many respects. Investors, developers and builders are faced with a booming but competitive and still fragmented market.

This conference will thus facilitate the implementation of hotel and tourism projects in the region.
